My Legs Are Killing Me!

Not only that. Now I’ve got a sharp pain on my wrist joint from falling on the stairs while walking down the counter to order a burger, my only lunch for the day.

Kim, the newly-appointed Production Team Head, and I spent the morning roaming around Raon and the electronic strip down G. Puyat Street in search of lights for the church anniversary; unfortunately, all we saw were the big, high-tech gadgets used in theaters and discos which were too powerful for the small set we have in the building. We ended up canvassing materials in Ace Hardware in SM Megamall. Yeah, you heard me right. A friend of ours applied for an online English-tutoring job in Ortigas and asked if we could meet. We probably agreed after deciding that we wouldn’t be able to buy anything with the funds given to us, and even if we did have the funds, the lights were too powerful for our stage anyway.

So the decision was to replace the existing lighting fixtures of the stage, buy a few flood and spotlights, and create our own floor lights with incandescent bulbs lined up in a row.

When to replace it is an entirely different problem, which we would not deal with today.

The only refreshing time was when we went up to the fourth floor of Megamall to view the galleries, and even then it wasn’t refreshing since my artistic instincts were shouting at me for not taking care of the talent. My apologies.

All these happened the whole day; so much for work. Right, work. It slowly reminds me of the disciplines needed to get things done, in a painful way.

Prologue

The entries written here are based on true stories. Whenever possible, non-factual events and situations are labeled to distinguish the real from the imagined. Yes, sometimes the author can tell the two apart.
