Necessary Alterations

I wish I could say that everything I do ends in victory. This one unfortunately, doesn't.

A month ago one of the songleaders asked for my help with one of the church's bulletin boards. I said yes, of course. Anything for one of my teammates. The next thing I know I’m being drafted to another ministry. I should have said no, but I don’t want to say no outright while I haven’t tried it yet, so I said yes.

After being swamped with so many things to do, I now regret my decision. I should have said no. Now the bulletin board is half-done, and I am being pressed to finish it.

So, here’s my decision: I finish the bulletin board, then retract my membership. And next time, just concentrate on one ministry. I seem to work better that way.

This is my fault. I know my limits, and by saying no the project would have gone to somebody else who had the heart to finish the work quick and excellent. Thank God literally that there's going to be a next time.

I noticed a police checkpoint established on the road as I walked home today. What was that for? Are there terrorists in our area now?

I Don’t Feel Like Writing

Not that I don’t want to write anymore, but that my desire for reading is overwhelming.

Finally, I have noticed some of the problems with my prose, which is why I am putting my pen down to read other people’s work and find out how they do it.

NaNoWriMo is just around the corner. Who isn’t excited? The Philippine team revived its message boards asking everybody else what they would be writing. I still don’t have any idea what I’ll be doing, other than it has to be related to spirituality and fantasy.

Finally, I'm Back Online!

The phone's working again. I don't have to go in an internet cafe to see what I've been missing.

My writing still sucks. The good news though is, I'm finally writing because I want to, not because I have to submit something by the end of the month.

As it turns out, I had been writing all the time; I just don't jot it down. Go figure.

One's Success

It was worth all the trouble practicing, scheduling, and transportation. The joint praise night effort was a success.

CTJCC Lagro, Bread from Heaven, and CTJCC Union (that's us) each performed five songs. Let me see if I still remember our lineup:

Glory
Most High
Above All
Here I Am to Worship
One Way

The energy was still up when we performed (we were the last). That was good. The better part of it was some of the youth in our group were inspired to play some worship songs for the church. See? Things happen when you worship through song.

What else can I say? Compared to the other teams, we still had a long way to go. Our lineup contain songs which are extremes: either too powerful or too meditative. Not that I'm saying it's wrong, but these things you don't notice until you perform with other bands. It was a good experience for all of us.

I should invest on a video recorder or a camera so you can all see what we're doing.

Unfortunately the phone line is still down. Argh!

Phone Still Down

I am at the mercy of an internet cafe since our phone line's still dead. Rumor is that someone stole the phone line itself, and a lot of the residents are fuming about it. Especially me of course.

So apologies if I haven't updated the website on a regular basis. The church's music team will be playing in Lagro together with two other church bands. This should be exciting.
